UGVP History
Union Grove Venture Partners began as the VC branch of Morgan Creek Capital Management in 2011, but spun-off in 2014 to ensure limited partner satisfaction of results & strategy.
The firm was established as an avenue to drive returns, not gather assets. UGVP decided to structure the firm as a fund of funds to take advantage of the relationships & access to successful venture capital funds.
To align interests with investors, UGVP’s team is uniquely lean. However small, this team is hard-working and dedicated to their field. Throughout their 11 years of partnership, UGVP raised 5 successful funds that are in various stages of employment. In 2022, Greg Bohlen and Patrick Cairns bought out their previous partnership’s ownership as he retired. (INSERT HOW THEY HAVE ADJUSTED FOR THIS?)
